Building A Campaign or Landing Page

The biggest impact for "A Simple Gesture" are campaigns.   This is where you create the excitement and process for people to become a donor.    Its so important, this page is dedicated to assisting you to create a Campaign Page or Landing page

Campaign Page vs. Landing Page

Only one difference

A Campaign Page might have a "register", and a Landing page will never have a "register" button on it.

When someone that is logged in lands on a campaign page they don't need to register, they are already logged in.   So they won't see the "register" button.   But if they happen to be logged out, and they arrive to a campaign page they will see a "register" button.   That can be confusing, after all they are already registered.  All they need to do is "Login".

To reduce confusion we have created a Landing Page.  This allows someone that is registered to come to the site without being logged in, and still not see a "Register".   For example;   A "Thank You" card on the reusable bag;   if they happen to scan that code it takes them to the ASGWebApp, where would have seen a "Register" button.  Since that is a Landing Page they don't see a Register button.  They just see the contents of the Thank You page.

Crafting a Campaign/Landing Page

Key content and shape/feel

Consider the purpose, and write down the bullet points somewhere.   What are the main things you want.

First;.   It's easy to share your commitment and belief in the cause, but most people just want to see the short story.   If you have a more elaborate explanation, put that in a document that you share with anyone, and then store it on a cloud account; google, iCloud, etc.   Put a link in the text of the campaign/landing page.

Second ;  Use bold, font size, font color to bring out the key points.

Three;  make it local.   Talk about your community, your needs.   This is civic pride in action.

Suggestion;  Resize your window you are using to enter the text for the campaign/landing page to be narrow, like a smart phone.   Make it work for a smart phone!  most people will see it that way.
