How It Works

Campaign Project Manager

We are seeking action oriented individuals that want to help make the world a better place.     A Campaign Project Manager’s role is to register new donors for ‘A Simple Gesture’ by using a variety of methods covered on this page.    You will paid for results, and the amount can be substantial.    This is work that is more than just a job, it’s a way to make the world a better place.

A ”Campaign” is where you are given a unique QR code and URL that can then be used by anyone to register.    You will be given a report on status weekly so you can see how you’re doing, and you’ll be paid when that donor participates in the event.   The first event is November 8th.

What is “A Simple Gesture”

It’s a “home food donation program”.   You can click around on the menu bar to read more.    Since this page is private you need to know the URL, or have the URL link saved somewhere..

A quick summary is that a donor registers.  They then receive an email regarding their first pick-up date.   The leave a bag of shelf-stable food on their porch and volunteers take it to a local pantry.

It’s really that simple.    But the idea is very impactful. Last year we brought in 4.5 million pounds from 45,000 donors using this simple system.  It makes a difference, and you can help us do even more.   The program is brand new to 90% of the North Bay Area.   Anyone living in the following counties is eligible;

COUNTIES PARTICIPATING:  San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake, Mendocino

The rest of this page will explain specifics for the Project Manager position.

Networking Email and QR Code

Payment is $5 for each donor

The quickest way to get started is a networking campaign.   This is an email you craft and send to anyone.   You can even ask them to resend it to their friends, family and neighbors.    It can be sent to any email list you can think of;  a company might send it to their employee’s, your friend network, family members, neighbors, etc.

The email will explain how “A Simple Gesture“ works, asking them to register.   It will contain a unique URL code that we give you.  (after your hired you will be given one).

One email can register a large number of donors, resulting in a very nice payment for very little time.

Here is sample text, but feel free to modify to make it your own;   You change the name, insert your URL hyperlink, and start emailing it.   Anyone that registers and participates results in you getting $5 each time.

Dear (first name);

I am personally getting involved in a new way to fight food insecurity right here where we live.   We all know the problem is getting worse as federal support is being drastically cut.   We can’t wait for the government or big companies to step in, this is a grass - roots solution where people like you and me can turn things around.

One in three families with a single parent struggle with food insecurity.  This holds kids back and it’s not their fault.   We need to do something.

The program is called “A Simple Gesture”.    You register on their website.   They send reminders for the first pick-up date (November 8th).   You leave a bag or two of shelf-stable pantry foods on your doorstep by 9:00am.   Their volunteers pick it up and take it to a nearby Hunger Relieve Site (called a “pantry”).

When they pick up your food donation they will leave behind a reusable bag for next time.    The program may seem too simple to be impactful, but last year it resulted in more than 4.5 million pounds of food going to people in need.

All you have to do is register!   CLICK THIS LINK and register.    Please join me in this effort.

If you want more information, go to www.ASGHelps.org or just write me back.

Thank you!!

PARTNER CAMPAIGN

Payment is $2 for each donor

A “Partner Campaign” takes a little more time to organize, but the amount of donors can grow quickly.

There are many examples; but here are a few to get you started

  1. A local church can be asked to participate.  You or someone else speaks at the church, a table is set up outside.    As people come out they register with a QR code.     The church is your partner, because they get $5 for each person that participates.    The church can use the money anyway they want.  Perhaps they are helping a family within the church, or they want to build a swings to in the play area.   The more personal their need for the $5 the more likely people will sign up.  Nearly all church’s agree, they want to help and this is a new way to do it.
  2. A local business offers their customers $10 off at the register.  You give them a sign they put by the register with a QR code.    The store provides a $5 discount and we pay the other $5 to the store (and we pay you $2).    Their customers benefit, the store gets great publicity, and we get a donor.    Stores love this idea, more than 70% of the stores your visit will agree if they are community based (locally owned or operated).
  3. Sporting and School Events;   Most schools sell tickets to enter into events.   In this case, they have a 2nd line to enter for free or at a discount.    We pay the school $5 and you $2 for each donor that participated.
  4. Professional and Social Clubs;  Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, Elks all need to raise money for all the good things they do.    Simple asking them to network within their club is fast and works great.   We would be surprised you find one that doesn’t agree to do it, most love it.    They write an internal email using the URL you give them, or they use the QR code you give them.  Either way, the club gets $5, you get $2.
  5. Boy Scouts, 4H, school clubs, youth sports teams and other youth organizations;  These clubs need money.   Asking them to share an email with the URL among themselves or to take a QR code around their neighborhood to sign up people is very effective.    Here again, they get a donor going and you get $2 and their club gets $5.

The photo gallery below shows you some real examples of how this can work.

Moments of Hope: Our Journey in Photos

Lola’s Market offered $10 off in-store purchase if used on same day.   A table was set up in front of the store, as people arrived they are asked if they want $10 off today?  (A soft ask), and then learn about A Simple Gesture, if they register (show ‘complete’ on screen) they get the coupon!
